This is why you choose a Fenix table top
When you’re looking for the perfect tabletop for your interior, you need to consider factors such as durability, aesthetics, and ease of maintenance. For some Sav & Økse table models, it’s possible to add a Fenix top layer to the tabletop. The Fjerre, Tomrer, and Rikke can be ordered online with a Fenix top as standard, and for most other models it’s available as a custom option. With a Fenix top layer you add color to your tabletop and make it very user-friendly. The super-matte appearance and soft touch are typical for Fenix. In this article, we tell you more about the features and advantages of a Fenix tabletop.
What is Fenix?
The Fenix top layer is made from an innovative material created through a pressing process using heat and pressure at the same time. The core structure of Fenix consists of paper (more than 60%), impregnated with thermosetting resin. Because of the very low light reflection, Fenix has a super-matte appearance. You can read more about the technology on the Fenix for Interiors website.
What are the advantages of Fenix?
Durability: Fenix tabletops are durable and resistant (to a certain extent) to scratches, impact, and heat. They stay looking new for years, even with intensive use.
Stylish design: Thanks to the contemporary look, Fenix tables fit well in different interior styles, such as Scandinavian and minimalist interiors.
Colors: Fenix tabletops come in a range of colors, so you can choose the perfect match for your interior.
Self-healing ability: Superficial scratches can be repaired using heat and/or a magic sponge (melamine sponge). The surface is also mold-resistant and antibacterial due to its self-healing properties.
Low maintenance: As described below, Fenix is easy to keep clean and therefore low-maintenance.

Are there any disadvantages to Fenix?
Where there are advantages, there are also disadvantages. The scratch resistance of Fenix is not unlimited. It’s important to be careful with sharp objects to prevent damage. The matte finish also makes dust, crumbs, or droplets more visible, especially on darker Fenix colors. The upside is that everything is easy to wipe away with a damp microfiber cloth. Fenix also has a less traditional appearance. If you’re looking for a tabletop with a natural wood grain or more classic textures, Fenix may not match your preferences.
How do you clean Fenix?
One of the biggest advantages of Fenix tabletops is how easy they are to maintain. For daily cleaning, follow these steps:
Remove loose dirt: Start by removing crumbs and other loose dirt with a soft cloth or vacuum cleaner.
Prepare a cleaning solution: Use a mild detergent with warm water.
Wipe the surface: Use a clean microfiber cloth and the cleaning solution to remove stains and dirt.
Dry the surface: Dry the tabletop with a clean, dry cloth to prevent streaks.
You don’t need strong cleaning agents, because Fenix is naturally resistant to stains and scratches. This makes it ideal for daily use in busy households. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads and avoid furniture polish or wax-based cleaners, as these can leave a film on the surface.
Fenix tabletops offer a mix of durability, a clean look, and ease of use. For more information or personal advice, our team is ready to help you in the showrooms, via chat, phone or email.
